Eventhough it was raining and I had to row my boat to scouts, we thought of springtime during our meeting. Sunny and warm weather is on the way (I HOPE)!

The Passover story is that, after centuries of slavery by the Egyptian pharaohs, God saw the people's distress and sent Moses to the pharaoh. "Send forth My people, so that they may serve Me," he had Moses tell the pharaoh. After several warnings were ignored God sent 10 plagues that destroyed everything from their livestock to their crops. On midnight on the 15th of the Hebrew month of Nissan in the year 1313 B.C. God sent the last plague, which killed all the Egyptians' firstborn. He spared the children of Israel, "passing over" their homes. This is how the holiday got its name.After the 10th plague the Israelites soon received their freedom. They left so quickly that they did not wait for their bread to rise and ate unleavened bread, which led Jews to only eat unleavened bread during the holiday in commemoration of that flight from Egypt.

What a kodak moment at my kids birthday party. Two joksters!!

The art teacher did African masks with the entire 2nd grade. I sat and scanned all of them into the computer. The kids wrote about them and we are going to record voicethreads with them.

Today was belt testing. All of the kids testing today did a great job. Sensei David does an amazing job with the children he teaches.

During report card conferences my co-worker hung these "frog" pictures in the hall. Students learned how to plot on a graph. This one student got really creative with the background. LOVE IT!
