We were invited to our neighbor's house for their block party. Had a great time with friends, then went to the bowling alley to bowl for Autism. We went back to the party and drank the night away. What a great time!
Today was a day of presents. I got my new keyboard cover and laptop case in the mail (purple of course) and my 2g flashdrive bracelet. I know it's green, but it's for work. It will help me to encourage my students to go green.
The only things I wanted to see at the San Diego Zoo were the Koalas and Pandas. I was so happy to see them. The Philadelphia Zoo doesn't have them. It was good to be home to see my kids and husband, but I miss the California weather!
Dennis was nice enough to let us store our baggage in his hotel room then drive us to the zoo. We weren't sure how to get there so we navigated the old fashioned way, by map. Linda, David, Mark and I had a great time.
Mark and I did green screened pictures for the DENaritaville luau. We all had to dress in a beach theme. We took over 90 pictures. We had a ball. What a crazy way to spend my anniversary! Happy Anniversary James! I still love you!
We stayed the week at the University of San Diego. What a beautiful campus! I roomed with Liz, Traci and Jan (same as last year). We were the party room again! The entire group was split into teams. Our team captain was Princess Porter. We had to come up with a team name and then decorate our surf board. The picture is our team jumping off the wall.
We went to Sea World today with Discovery. We had a ball walking around and seeing some of the shows. I walked around with Mark and Selena. We didn't get to see Shamu, but we got to do the Shamu dance!
We did the trolley tour today where we could hop on and off at different places. We visited Coronado Island where we saw the beautiful Coronado Hotel which is made all of wood. It even has an old fashioned bird cage elevator, still in use, with a person running it. We also visited Old City and Horton Plaza.
Arrived in San Diego for the Discovery Educator Network Summer Institute. The weather was beautiful. Tony picked us up from the airport and brought us back to the hotel. He then played tour guide around the city. We went to Mission beach and then La Jolla beach. We were able to see the sea lions at La Jolla beach. At Mission beach we all got matching henna tattoos.
Went to see the fireworks in Ambler tonight. I took some video of the fireworks. Brianna and Jon rode the Salt and Pepper Shakers and Rachel is sporting her two dogs. One of them she won and the other is just her pet. LOL! As we were driving home, Brianna told us how the twins were sleeping in the car. I had to snap the picture. This is the only time that they can touch and not fight. We had a great time.
After finally sleeping in today, I went through all the bags of stuff I brought home. This is taking up 3/4 of my queen sized bed! My husband should be happy. I brought him home a new wardrobe of t-shirts and got my kids the flash drives they need for next year.
