My co-worker and I had the 8th graders research an element. This is the element chart on the wall in the hall.

January 30th

Took the twins to a birthday party today. Instead of creating the standard "goodie" bags, these were created. Yes, they look falic, but they really are not. They are a microphone, music note and guitar. We laughed all afternoon about it though.

January 29th

Took the kids to Dana's house.  We let the kids go sledding up at the school.  They had a ball and we had a few moments of peace.

January 28th

Had a great time celebrating Jackie's 40th.  What a crazy, fun night.  We definitely have to do this again!  Traci...you are next, girl!!

January 27th

Kids were so excited to test out their new sleds. We also got to hang with a few friends we haven't seen in a while.

January 26th

My friend Traci, from work posted this on FB last night, "I want to feel the sun on my face, a drink in my hand and sand between my toes!!!Ahhhhh........ :) ♥" Today, Jess brought all this into her room.  Through all this bad weather, we all dreamed for a moment.  I had to get a picture.

January 25th

At Girl Scouts we made signs for the cookie booths.  I had to take a picture of this sign my youngest made.  The sayings made me laugh.

The weather channel said we were getting a cold front, but this is ridiculous. This is what my car read this morning....BRRR

Why is it that my cup runneth over, but I still never win? This was at my husband's office party. What a great bunch of people!

January 22nd

Took the scouts to the Water Works.  They learned about the history and how it has helped distribute clean water to Philadelphia.  They each got to decorate a fake brick which will be used to make a well to collect money.  The money will be used to create real wells all over the world.  They had to write a saying on their bricks too.  Here are just a few samples from the girls.

January 21st

Went to the orthopedic doctor yesterday. She said that I have severe tennis elbow and wanted to cast me for a few weeks. We agreed on a splint instead. I just got fitted today and have to wear it for 3 weeks. This sucks!

January 20th

My friend got this at our last leader's meeting. I wish I a bottle of this today. I feel cranky.

We finally got our snow disks. Just bring on the snow!

January 18th

 When I went into girl scouts tonight, this was in the corner of the floor.  A youth group created it out of donated pennies.  They slept over, at the church, last weekend and were up half the night creating this.  It was amazing to see. I took my girls into the back room so that it wouldn't get messed up (just in case).

January 17th

 This weekend we taught Brianna how to play the card game, Hand and Foot.  We played for a few hours this afternoon.  She caught on pretty quickly and even gave us some trash talk at the table.  MP kept bothering her to break her concentration and she quickly put him in his place (LOL).  She had her rules sheet that she looked at from time to time.  MP added the last line to it!

January 16th

On the way to DE we stopped at the mall. I got my phone and daughter's touch clear coated. I also got the Pogo for my phone.

January 15th

We took Saki out for a walk in the woods. The girls had fun throwing snowballs at Saki and MP.

January 14th

 Talk about heart attack on a plate.  It's good to have comfort food every once in a while and it was a virgin experience for James who has never been here.  Here is the conversation in the car:

James: How about we go to Nifty Fifty's for dinner.
Rachel: What is Nifty Fifty's daddy?
James: It's an old fashioned burger place.
Rachel: What like the '80s?
Brianna: Yeah that's why it's called Nifty FIFTYS!

I finally posted a sign on my office for when MP visits my school. Many of the staff come to seek his technological advice when he's there, as well as the students.

January 12th

This picture I took of my son. He let the dog lick the spoon after he got her food ready. He giggled the whole time Saki licked the spoon and we giggled with him.

January 11th

This picture was taken during my lunch. This truck salted the same street 4 times in 30 minutes. That's a little excessive don't you think? No flakes falling but lots of falling salt! Well at least they make it easier for me to get to work.

January 10th

This was MP and my second attempt at making kettle corn last night. Kept on burning. There has to be a better way besides buying it.

January 9th

Just unloaded 90 cases of cookies twice; once from the car into the living room and then to the storage room in the back of the house. I need a nap. I love my cookie parent!!!!

January 8th

 I was going to post a picture from Aunt Nora's funeral that showed the sadness of the family, but that's not how the family works.  We celebrate who the person was and reminisce stories about the person who passed.  We all got together after the burial to eat, drink and wipe our tears.  This is Uncle John (Nora's brother) and Rob (my bro-in-law).  They were made from the same mold.  They were comparing bellies and I think I heard Rob say that his was bigger. What goofy people! I love 'em!

January 7th

This is the cart that was going to be thrown out because it was missing a bracket. I went to Lowes and saved it. Mark helped me put it together.

January 6th

Because everyone has been sick I made a batch of matzah ball soup. My brother in law never had it and is now a fan. My dog even enjoyed licking the bowls.

Went to my daughter's basketball game. They lost :( but this was their first game. Better luck next time.

Farewell to our beloved Aunt Nora.  May she finally find peace.  We will miss you very much!

January 3rd

Yes folks this is bird poop on my windshield! Jonathan says, "Look mom, the bird poop looks like a bird". I just couldn't help but laugh. James says it looks like a snow owl.

Happy New Year to all!  After a very emotional night, this was the breakfast I made the kids.  Blueberry and chocolate chip muffins and corn bread.
